Dear Friends,

Indonesia is a very beautiful country consisting of more than 17000 islands and also the world’s 4th most populous country (right behind USA, India, and China) with more than 279 million people living in it currently. With more than 1000 ethnic groups living across the archipelago, Indonesia is also one of, if not the largest Muslim country in the world, and The Lord has shown His unconditional love for the people of Indonesia by blessing them with abundance of natural resources, nice weather year-round, and very strategic location in the Southeast Asian region. However, many of the deeply religious population and ethnic groups in Indonesia have no or very little knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! This reminds us of our Lord’s Jesus’ saying to His disciples:

“…open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” (John 4:35b)

In January 2023, we thanked our Lord Jesus Christ, who have inspired, started, and sustained First Indonesian Baptist Church (FIBC) in Houston for 33 years in serving the Indonesian as well as the local communities here in Houston, Texas. Despite the challenges, The Lord has continuously blessed our church with friends and families who share the same vision and mission throughout these years with sufficient resources, that not only we can help the local congregation, but also support several mission works in Indonesia as well as other parts of the world.

However, to expand and better support our congregation with His works and missions here in Houston, Texas, we believe that it is time for our church to start having our own Facility for Worship, Fellowship, and Discipleship programs. With God’s grace, we have made a two year plan to realize this goal, and would love to have all of you to bring up our church and our building plans in your daily prayers! Moreover, if you are currently experiencing God’s faithful blessings in your lives, we would like encourage you to take part in God’s bigger plans for you, perhaps by considering supporting us financially. You can do this either through a one-time gift or a series of gifts (weekly, monthly or quarterly) as token of your gratitude to the Lord Himself who have blessed you abundantly in many areas of your life.
